Sales Agreement
The terms you'll be asked to sign before a puppy is reserved.
Template document. This page is a starting point drafted for a general audience. Puppy sale, consumer protection and "puppy lemon law" requirements vary considerably by state — have a qualified attorney review and adapt this before you rely on it.

This agreement is made between Flavia Frenchies (the "Breeder") and the purchaser (the "Buyer") for the sale of one French Bulldog puppy. Signing it is a condition of reserving a puppy.
1. The puppy
The specific puppy — name, puppy ID, date of birth, sex, colour and price — is identified on the signed copy of this agreement and matches the listing on this website at the time of reservation.
2. Deposit
- A deposit holds a named puppy and removes it from public availability.
- Deposits are non-refundable, but are transferable to another available puppy from the Breeder within twelve months.
- If the Breeder cancels the sale for any reason other than Buyer default, the deposit is refunded in full.
- The deposit is credited against the total purchase price.
3. Payment
- The balance is due in full before the puppy is released or transport is booked.
- The listed price covers the puppy only. Delivery, transport and any optional services are quoted and invoiced separately.
- Prices shown include the fees and taxes stated on each puppy's page.
4. Collection and age
- No puppy is released before eight weeks of age under any circumstances.
- Each puppy has a stated available-from date. Collection or transport is arranged on or after that date.
- If the Buyer cannot collect within fourteen days of the available-from date, boarding fees may apply, and the Breeder will discuss this with the Buyer in advance.
5. What the Breeder provides
- Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, with written records.
- A veterinary health certificate confirming fitness to travel.
- Registration papers or a registration application, as stated on the puppy's listing.
- Microchip details where the puppy is microchipped, as stated on the listing.
- Additional items listed under that puppy's included perks.
6. Health guarantee
The puppy is covered by a 1-year guarantee against life-threatening congenital and hereditary defects, subject to the conditions and exclusions set out on the health guarantee page, which forms part of this agreement.
Key conditions, restated here for clarity:
- The Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of collection.
- Vaccinations and preventative care must be kept current.
- A qualifying diagnosis must be reported in writing within 48 hours.
- Remedy is a replacement puppy of comparable value; veterinary costs are not reimbursed.
7. Buyer's responsibilities
The Buyer agrees to:
- Provide appropriate food, shelter, exercise and veterinary care for the life of the dog.
- Keep the dog as a companion animal, not as an outdoor-only or kennel dog.
- Take reasonable account of the breed's brachycephalic nature — in particular avoiding exertion in heat, walking from a harness rather than a collar, and never leaving the dog unsupervised in or near water.
- Never surrender the dog to a shelter, rescue or pound. If the Buyer can no longer keep the dog, they agree to contact the Breeder first.
8. Returns
The Breeder will take back any dog they have bred, at any point in its life, rather than see it enter a shelter. Refunds on returns are governed by the return and refund policy.
9. Transport
Where the Breeder arranges transport, it is arranged as agent for the Buyer with a licensed third-party transporter or flight nanny. The Breeder does not ship puppies as cargo. Risk passes to the Buyer on handover to the transporter, and the Buyer is encouraged to arrange insurance covering transit.
10. Limitations
- No representation is made as to adult size, adult coat colour, ear set, markings, show quality or breeding suitability.
- Temperament is shaped substantially by training and environment after collection, and cannot be guaranteed by the Breeder.
- The Breeder's total liability under this agreement is limited to the purchase price paid.
11. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the state in which the Breeder operates. Nothing in it limits any right the Buyer has under applicable consumer protection or puppy sale legislation.
